Why should I join the Music Oven Network?

We offer a unique and free promotional service to talented artists just like you that know how hard it is to get noticed, much less get played on the radio. The Music Oven Network was created to promote the independent artist in every public place that wants a low-cost alternative to the canned play lists produced by Muzak, DMX, syndicated radio networks, or satellite radio stations. This is a radio network created for the independent artists and their fans and controlled by you and our subscribers directly!

What do I have to pay to become a member?

Nothing. Membership is absolutely free and you can cancel your membership at any time.

Do I get paid when my music is played on the network?

Not directly by us. Our mission is to promote independent artists at no charge and expose them to new audiences. If we compensated artists directly, we could no longer offer our promotional service for free.

How exactly does the network promote my music?

Our subscribers purchase Music Ovens (audio receivers) and put them in public areas such as restaurants, office buildings, nightclubs, health clubs, retail stores, and even music industry offices and homes. Every time one of your songs is played, our D.J. announces the song title, artist name, and website address where the listener can find out more about you and/or purchase your CD!

Am I guaranteed to be played?

No. Our subscribers decide what genres, moods, tempos, languages, and other musical selections that they wish to include in their own custom radio networks. Then our PullCast technology creates a custom play list for them each day automatically. If your music matches their selections, then your music will get played.

Can I find out what restaurants and retail store chains are playing my music?

No, we must respect the privacy of our subscribers. However, you can login to your member account and track the number of plays each of your songs receives and the number of votes that your music gets.

Do I have to be a professional musician to join?

No. Membership is available to any artist. Whether your band has been playing gigs for many years, or you have never ventured far from your 4-track recorder -- you are welcome here.

Can I join even if I have signed on with a record label?

Yes. You will need to clear it with your label or agent. We have several independent labels that are also members that promote their artists on the Music Oven Network. Everyone wins if you get discovered.

Is there any advantage to joining now?

Yes. Since all tracks get equal play in the network, the longer your songs are in the network, the more exposure you will get.

Do I loose control of my music files if I become a member and upload my songs?

No. You remain in total control of your music. We do not make your song files available for download from our website like other website portals. We only distribute them on our network of audio receivers (Music Ovens). You can remove any of your music files at any time through your online account. If you remove a song, it will be removed from the network within the next 24 hours. We also don't allow our subscribers to download or share your music files.

What software or equipment do I need to participate?

An Internet-connected PC and a web browser. You will also need to have a recording of one or more of your original songs, converted into MP3 file format (128Kbps sampling rate).
